VisualBoyAdvance 1.8
VisualBoyAdvance is a Game Boy/Game Boy Color/Game Boy Advance emulator for Mac OS X.
In order to run GameBoy Advance rom images, VisualBoyAdvance needs the GameBoy Advance bios image. You can dump this image from your real GameBoy Advance. Please do not ask me where to find this file. Do not ask me for rom images, I will be forced to forward those emails to the proper authorities.
Mac OS X Only

This is now much better then boycott the sound is very good. Boycott is just lagging behind
Chief Moose(12/20/2003 - version 1.7.1)
even if Boycott Advance didn't exist, this is a pretty bad port of a decent emulator. But of course Boycott Advance does exist, so I'd recommend checking that out.
Ed the Monkey(4/20/2003 - version 1.5.1)
True, VisualBoyAdvance is slower than Boycott Advance. However, VBA has much better compatibility than Boycott Advance, and many games that work poorly or not at all on Boycott work well (albeit slowly) on VBA.

Personally, I think the Boycott Advance is much better than this. Most games run slowly with this emulator, and I have teh r0>

VisualBoyAdvance (commonly abbreviated as VBA) is a free emulator of the Game Boy, Game Boy Color, and Game Boy Advancehandheld game consoles[1] as well as of Super Game Boy and Super Game Boy 2.

Besides the DirectX version for the Windows platform, there is also one that is based on the free platform independentgraphics librarySDL. This is available for a variety of operating systems including Linux,[2]BSD, Mac OS X,[3] and BeOS. VisualBoyAdvance has also been ported to AmigaOS 4, AROS, GameCube, Wii, webOS, and Zune HD.[4]

History

The VisualBoyAdvance project was started by 'Forgotten'.[5] When this person left the development of the emulator, the project was handed over to a team named 'VBA Team', led by Forgotten's brother. Development on the original VisualBoyAdvance stopped in 2004 with version 1.8.0 beta 3, and a number of forked versions were made by various developers in the years since then, such as VisualBoyAdvance-M.

VisualBoyAdvance-M, or simply VBA-M, is an improved fork from the inactive VisualBoyAdvance project, adding several features as well as maintaining an up-to-date codebase. After VisualBoyAdvance became inactive in 2004, several forks began to appear such as VBALink, which allowed users to emulate the linking of two Game Boy devices. Amazon music for mac. Eventually, VBA-M was created, which merged several of the forks into one codebase. Thus, the M in VBA-M stands for Merge.[citation needed] There is also a RetroArch/Libretro port of VBA-M's GBA emulation core (without the GB, GBC and SGB cores)[6] as well as a modified version called VBA-Next.[7]
